I’m sorry Paula but anytime I come over, you’re not always around.
Ah! Around ke! I will be at work now, I told you I just got employed at FS machinery ltd
Oh yes you told me, hope it’s not too stressful? Not at all, Paula replied.
Hmm, Paula it’s been so long you’ve been to church. I understand your busy schedule that’s why I intentionally came today being a public holiday which falls on bible study day too; I came to pick you up for service mama, so get dressed, it’s almost time.
Ah! Debs, just like that? You don’t even know if I have this evening fixed or not, anyways maybe some other time, not today please.
Madam, it’s today and no other, so go in there and change or I’ll drag you out the way you’re dressed.
Really? ooooooooo Deborah! Paula screamed. Alright, let me finish my food, and then we move.
Ok boss, Debs replied
On their way to church
Ah! This traffic can make one never to step out of the house, kai! Paula muttered to Debs
I tell you babe, Debs replied squeezing her face
After 30mins, they arrived at the church
The bible study was just about to begin; the ladies entered the auditorium in time.
Oh my! Sister Sister Paula, how have you been? Esther pressed in to hug paula.
I’m good o, Paula replied sharply and muttered few words then walked away to a corner to sit away from others especially Debby and also for her to disappear immediately after bible study to avoid unnecessary greetings.
Pastor Josiah, our handsome youth pastor, preached on BE FERVENT, DO NOT LOSE YOUR FAITH!
The devil is grieved whenever he sees men draw closer to God that’s why he tries everything possible to tamper with the believer’s journey (Matthew 4:1-11). Therefore, it is expedient for every believer to hold tightly the faith we’ve received through Christ, the scripture urges us to fight the good fight of faith. Never allow anything snatch your faith from you. What are the likely things that make a believer lose their faith;
· 👉 INSENSITIVITY:
· 👉 IN-FERVENCY
· 👉 IGNORANCE
· 👉 CONDEMNATION
Visible signs that you’re not in faith
· 👉 Uninterested in spiritual activities
· 👉 Giving excuses of not doing instead of creating time to do
· 👉 Absence from fellowshipping with the brethren
· 👉 Unbothered about the Kingdom needs
Way outs
· Sincerely go before God in prayers; tell him to search you and see if there be any evil way in you and he should lead you to the way everlasting. BE SINCERE!
· Stay fervent in prayer and study of the word. Most importantly, pray long in the spirit, scripture says pray at all times and on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit.
· Seek counsel. Make sure to have certain persons through the leading of the spirit that you’re accountable to. Don’t assume you are fine or you can do all things; seek counsel from this well trusted people. Read the story of Moses and his spiritual Father, Jethro (Exodus 18).
· Daily evaluation of yourself before the Lord and trust the Spirit to help you because He has been provided to help us in our weaknesses, scripture says “so too the Holy Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness” (Romans 8:26a). It’s impossible for us to evaluate ourselves without the help of the Spirit because it might lead to self-condemnation but when we trust the greatest High Priest, Jesus who understands our weaknesses and cling unto Him then strength to overcome and rise from such weakness will be released (Hebrews 4:14-15).
Shall we rise up and pray to God…………Lord Jesus, strengthen me to run this race patiently with you……in Jesus name we’ve prayed………..Alleluia
Sister Debby, such a powerful message today, Brother Nehemiah said
Oh yeeeessss iitt iiiss, Debby replied looking around in search of, of course, Paula.
Where could this woman be now? Debby thought as she walked around the auditorium, she asked few persons then a male usher directed her to a tight corner at the back, I don’t know what’s wrong with sister paula, she has refused to stand up, he said.
Debby walked to the corner then found paula crying with her head bowed…
To be continued
Wonderful piece of work, more strength ma
