AT THE STATION…
Good morning, my name is Barrister Deborah. I am here to see Adedapo, can you bring him out please?
Madam, our boss has instructed us not to bring out that slave…………Slave? Debs cuts in…..What did you just say? Now listen, if you do not want me to order this station to be locked up for Violation and everyone of you arrested, bring me Adedapo immediately, Deborah shouted.
Barrister ma, you will have to be patient, oga is not around now, the officer said
So you expect me to wait until your boss is around right? Debs shouted. No problem let me place a call through to Mr. Peter from Federal High Court Abuja…….……..who is that making noise out there, DPO said from a corner of the room.
Oh wow! I thought you said your boss isn’t around, Debs said to the officer’s face. Good! Anyways Mr. DPO, I’m here for Adedapo, bring him out right now…
So? Is that enough reason to want to tear down a whole building with your noise, DPO said…………Ah oga, na Barrister woman oo, the officer cuts in……….
So? Big so? Double so so? DPO said looking at Debs from head to toe. Anyways madam barrister, go to the cell number 20 and pick up the slave…..
Debby ignored him and rushed forward……………ah ahn mummy, you will not collect the key, I already ordered my boys never to go near that cell again, so you better come and take the key yourself.

Is it your fault? No! Debs murmured as she came back for the key………………Oh Lord! This smell shouldn’t be from my brother, Ah JESUS! See my Dee, my baby brother………….Deborah said has tears rolled up in her eyes as she opened the gate to the cell………Ade! Dee! It’s me Debs, please Jesus, Dee stand up and let’s go home.
Oh! The day has finally come, the voice said it and it happened, Ade said faintly
ADE! James screamed as he helped Debs lift him up
James, I’ve been waiting for you, what took you so long? Did you bring the car? Debs asked……………I’m sorry ma, I got stuck in traffic and yes I brought the car. I met those wicked officers and they directed me to this place, Oh Lord, what’s this smell, James replied.
As they approached the car, Ade stopped and asked………Please what’s today’s date?
Ade you’d know that later, let’s get to the house first, James responded
No! He exclaimed faintly, I need to know now
Ok, today’s date is 6th of May 2018…..can we go now? Debs replied
And time? Ade continued
Time is 2:50pm, Debs replied…………James please lift this guy and let’s leave this place
Deborah and James helped Ade outside the station, into the car and they drove of...…
As they moved out; the policemen didn’t even ask them anything. It was as if, they intentionally kept him locked up without bail or trial. May we not fall into the hands of the wicked, AMEN!

AT ADE’S RESIDENCE
Oh Lord, you never leave nor forsake your righteous. Please Lord; bring Adedapo Stephen and Aderemi Deborah back home safely, Mama kept uttering these words in prayers.
Mama!!! Mama!! Debs screamed from the compound as usual.
Mama jumped up from her knees on hearing her voice and rushed out……Mama careful o, Debs said
Thank you Jesus, eh my son, what’s this, Jesus, God! See what they did to my son! Mama gave Ade a tight hug.
Ade bursts into tears, trying to squeeze some words out of his mouth…mama I’m sorry, maamaa please forgive me…..Ade kept crying…… but mama just kept petting her big baby….
Happy reunion! Can we enter now? Mama and her cry baby, Debs said sarcastically as she held Ade into the house. Thank you so much James for your help.
Ah James, my son, God bless you, Mama said
Dee, let me help you to the room, so you can wash up, Deborah took him by his hands and they entered. When you’re done, let me know, so I can help you out then we can book an appointment together with the family doctor, Debs said as she left the room.
James, what exactly happened, how did Ade end up there, Debs asked
James explained everything that happened
My God, mummy can you see the power of God. What if I hadn’t come home in time? My boss actually told me to stay few days so I can prepare an orientation for the new law students, but my spirit didn’t just want to stay another day after my exams. Glory to God! Truly, God loves us and He is intentional about us. God proved himself to be true, alleluia…………….let me quickly prepare dinner for us, and James you’ll be leaving tomorrow, no excuse this time, Ok! Debs said as she walked to the room to check on Ade before going to the kitchen.
James responded with a smile
Truly, God is intentional about man and He always shows how much we mean to Him. God doesn’t hate the sinner but He despises the sin in them; that’s why He keeps knocking their doors for Him to come in. The mind of God is known only to Him and it takes a man of great depth in Him to know His mind. Also, every new day of our life is another avenue and chance to live better, not morally or self righteously but to live better in God through the Spirit within.
Ade and Mama in a conversation at the veranda
My boy, how do you feel now?.........Mama, I feel better, it’s been over a week now, Ade replied.
Glory to God my son, you said you wanted to speak with me, I’m all ears, Mama said
Hmm, mum I’ve been thinking about this scenario ever since I came back, everything happened so fast, unimaginable and seemed unreal. On the first day, I felt it was just for at least 2-3 days, but mama, one week passed, four weeks passed then two months….without food, with little water, no fresh air. Mum I thought I was literally going to die, then I remembered our last conversation, I was so sad to be leaving you on a bad note, oh mama, I wept, it pained me so much, I thought those were my last days, oh I didn’t get to see Debs, I wept and wept, then mama in the midst of this, I heard a voice saying “IT DOESN’T MATTER”, Ade sighed
